Great Explorers' Voyage (26 days)
This 26 day voyage is your chance to be part of history, in the tradition of Cook, Scott, Shackleton, and, of course, Amundsen. In addition to a visit to the Bay of Whales, the closest area to the South Pole accessible by ship, you will visit the humble remains of century old base camps, accompanied by a renowned Antarctic historian. At the same time specialists in marine biology, ornithology and glaciation provide expert commentary on the wildlife you encounter. The Great Explorers' Voyage is priced from £9579 per person.
East Antarctica Voyage (26 days)
Journey to one of the lesser-visited areas of the White Continent, the wild and windy East coast. One of the first areas to become 'ice-free' each season, wildlife is abundant in this region. The ice-strengthened ‘Spirit of Enderby’ hopes to reach the French base Durmont d’Urville, where the documentary film ‘March of the Penguins’ was filmed. Over the course of 26 days you'll experience the wildlife rich sub-Antarctic islands, witness the ice-clad coast of the continent's eastern region, visit the site of Mawson's hut and reach the Magnetic South Pole.
Birding Down Under Voyage (19 days)
Enjoy bird watching galore on this 19 day voyage around the Sub-Antarctic islands just South of New Zealand. This area, known as the ‘Albatross Latitudes’, is host to a huge number of breeding seabird species (40 seabird species and 10 albatross species) with over 120 species in total visiting the region. This expedition includes plenty of time ashore as well as zodiac cruising with experienced local “birders” to see and photograph the many island endemics.
